September 30th, 2017: Rachel, our founder, was volunteering at Animal Care League. They needed transport for a pup from the shelter to a fundraising event. In that two-mile journey, it was realized the impact transport can create on the animal welfare organizations May 4th, 2018: Our first rider from Chicago Animal Control, Hawkeye, got a ride to rescue and Rachel’s first foster sleepover (aka first short-term foster)! July 2018: Rachel gets involved with CRISP (Chicago Rescue Intervention Support) and provides lifesaving transportation from the intake facility to veterinary care or foster homes. March 2019: Our first out of State transport from Indiana for Mutts of the Midway May, 2019: Met Sosa and Mr. J and partnered with our first owner support transport. August 2019: The official founding of our organization’s name, first logo (thank you Jess K November 2019: Officially a 501c3! Finishing 2019 with 128 rides of 7,165 miles for 223 dogs, cats, and a bird rider! February 2020: Transport of our famous fur co-pilot Harold! May 2020: Turned in our Subaru for Frank, the Ford Transit 250 Van! December 2020: Release of Harold Lou Rescue’s Too to educate youth about animal rescue and raise funds for transports! Our first community networking event serving dinner for individuals that are unhomed and delivering gifts to children in the MASK community! Celebrating 2020’s 146 trips of over 42,000 miles throughout 11 states for 1,138 animals thanks to 44 rescue partners of 10 volunteer copilots! February 2021: Celebrated our first annual Barkmitzvah gala! March 2021: Our first combined partner initiative Krewe of Mew, increasing rescue saving efforts of Louisiana cats with Lulu’s Locker Rescue Celebrating 2021’s 247 trips of 90,813 miles for 675 dogs, 1,593 cats, 29 small animals, and 8 pigs thanks to 79 rescue partners and 16 volunteer drivers! We also initiated mutual aid support for 5 events. In 2023 Rescueber transported 293 dogs, 340 cats, 1 goat, 1 pig, 11 birds, 8 bunnies, while putting 18,000 miles on the van! We also worked with 52 different rescues, animal controls, and mutual aid partners and coordinated 3,000 riders!
